North Carolina Millennial Traditional Artist

Artist Bio

Sachi Dely is an Indigenous Asian American artist based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sachi was born in Dak Mil Province in Southern Vietnam on October 12, 1998. Vietnam is home to over 30 Indigenous tribes, Sachi is from the Bunong tribe. At the age of two, she and her parents fled Vietnam due to religious persecution and other human rights violations against Indigenous people. She and her parents spent a year and a half at two separate refugee camps in Cambodia before immigrating to the United States as refugees in 2002.

In May of 2020, Sachi obtained her Bachelor's degree in Art with a focus in painting and a double minor in East Asian Studies and Business Administration at Guilford College. Currently, she works as a teaching artist for the Creative Aging Network of North Carolina while pursuing her own career in Art, Acting, Writing, and Directing.

Artist’s Purpose

“As a creative, I want to do many things. I want to spread my culture, tell my story, and inspire people through my art. I am on a journey to discover myself and my purpose. My work is a reflection of that. Through the many phases of my life, my pieces capture those moments.”
